I bought a new GPS unit for my travel. I just have to plan my route in Google and sync it with my GPS, and I will never be lost. You might think that bike tourer hate planned route and love random encounter, but I am telling you that planned route has a few advantage : it is pretty safe and efficient, and isn’t that most people looking for in their life? Most are not without spirit of adventure, it is just a pre-planned route is too attractive. Of course it is impossible to strict to it thought, it required luck and ability. Even Google can’t distinguish motorway and cycle lane in Japan.

Bought some bread, roll, puff and milk for breakfast. Finished the roll and milk in the morning, leave the bread for lunch and puff for snack.

Started riding at 9 and reach Arimatsu. It is streets full of tradition wooden house. Nagoya doesn’t offer much to see, so if you happen to be around, it may be a place for you.

Outside Nagoya and biking on small lane, passing through terrace and local residence, that is kind of biker’s road. But it stopped with National route 1. Although bicycle is not forbidden on most of the route, sometime it turns into terrible highway and I have to find an alternative.

Google is so efficient that it skip most of the scenic route. I rode on the river bank to enjoy the everyday Japanese view.

With the tailwind on my side, I rode 50 km in the morning. With this speed I will reach my goal of the day in 2 hours. I have to slow my pace so I went to refill in a stopover.

The famous shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu was born around here, so you can spot him even in a stopover.

It was headwind in the afternoon, so it is a fair world. If there is up hill, there is downhill. Don’t think too much and keep going.

The world is a fair place, but men are not fair being, so I bought myself an ice pop. The Japanese are really good at making ice, it is not too hard and it melts in your mouth.

Spent some time in a small town, this cat is the boss so it can sleep on the display.

Refilling water at the station, and tried to enjoy my just bought fruit. Some old lady was selling these near the field for 100 yen, and she gave me extra for free. I have no idea what kind of fruit it is, but it is so sour and full of seed. It evolves to trick any animal so it will be spitted when bite. Now this is fairness strike back.

The Tokaido is an ancient road connected Tokyo to Kyoto. There was 53 rest houses alone the road and the Japanese have kept some of these.

Open view from the road, and it surprise me on the first sight.

Nearly there, look at the sea!

Arrived at 4 pm and there is hot water for your feet in the resting point.

An early dinner.

Then I went sea watching and passed an ostrich zoo.

A beautiful end of the day.

Back to the stopover, all stuff were gone. Washed myself at the toilet and arranged my bed.

Playing with cat.

Sleeping place tonight.

Some cycling, some shooting, and some playing with cat, this is a good day.
I have to find a way to recharge my GPS tomorrow as there is only 30% of the battery left.
